The Comeback of Anastacia: Her First Performance since Mastectomy

Anastacia’s first concert since her mastectomy six years ago after battling breast cancer, comeback, early detection, & music industry

Anastacia is a renowned singer and songwriter known for her hit singles “I’m Outta Love” and “Left Outside Alone”.

When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, she underwent a partial mastectomy and treatment, but the cancer resurfaced again in 2013, this time requiring a full mastectomy.

After a few years break from music to focus on her health, Anastacia made the triumphant comeback to perform in Dubai in April 2017, in what was her first live performance to a large audience since her mastectomy.

The concert was part of the Blended Music Festival, an annual event that takes place in Dubai and attracts music aficionados from all over the world.

She wrote about her experience in her autobiography, “Resurrection,” and also acknowledged that it was not easy to share her story, given the stigma attached to cancer. However, she believed that it was important to talk about her journey to raise awareness about the disease.

Her cancer resurfaced again in 2013, this time requiring a full mastectomy. Anastacia revealed in an interview with The Guardian that although the diagnosis was devastating, she was determined to fight.
