Four foods you’ve been eating incorrectly

Learn the right way of eating four common foods: bananas, pizza, apples, and sushi. Eating the right way helps improve your culinary experience and makes it healthier too

Many of us think that we are experts at eating. After all, it is one of our most basic survival skills. But, we might be wrong about a few things. We may be eating some foods the wrong way, and this can affect our health in the long run.

So, let us take a look at four foods that you have probably been eating incorrectly all your life.

1. Bananas

Bananas are a great source of potassium, which is an essential nutrient that helps regulate our blood pressure. But, have you been peeling bananas the right way?.

Most of us peel bananas from the stem-side, which makes it messy and often results in mushy fruit. The correct way to peel a banana is from the bottom. Pinch the bottom of the banana and then peel it. This way you get a clean, intact banana every time.

2. Pizza

Pizza is undoubtedly one of the most popular foods worldwide, but are you eating it the right way?.

When we eat pizza, we usually pick up a slice by the crust, which is, of course, the wrong way to do it. The correct way to eat pizza is by folding it in half with your hands.

This way the toppings don’t slide off, and you get a perfect bite every time.

3. Apples

Apples are said to keep the doctor away, but if you have been eating them the wrong way, you might be inviting health problems. Most people eat apples by slicing the fruit across the core, leaving behind the seeds, which is not the right way to do it.

The correct way to eat an apple is by slicing it vertically from the top and the bottom of the core. This way, the core comes off easily, and you get to eat the entire fruit.

4. Sushi

Sushi is a Japanese delicacy that has become world-famous. But are you eating it the way it is meant to be eaten?.

When most people eat sushi, they usually dip the rice side of the sushi roll in the soy sauce. The right way to eat sushi is by dipping the fish side in the soy sauce.

The rice is already flavored with vinegar, so it would detract from the taste if you dipped it in soy sauce. Also, don’t mix wasabi in the soy sauce. Instead, place a small amount directly on the sushi.

Conclusion

Eating these four foods the right way might not drastically change your life, but it will make your culinary experience more enjoyable and healthier.
