Losing weight can be a daunting task, but what if we told you that you can lose weight in as little as 24 hours? The key to this is a combination of healthy eating, exercise and the implementation of small lifestyle changes.

Try these tips to slim down in just one day.

1. Start your day with a healthy breakfast

A healthy breakfast is important to kick-start your metabolism and give your body the energy it needs to move throughout the day.

Choose something high in protein like eggs or Greek yogurt to keep you feeling full for longer and avoid snacking on unhealthy foods later on.

2. Swap your coffee for green tea

Green tea is high in antioxidants and has been proven to boost metabolism and aid in weight loss. Swap your usual coffee for a cup of green tea and see the difference it makes.

3. Stay hydrated

Drinking plenty of water throughout the day not only keeps you hydrated but also helps flush out toxins from your body. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water throughout the day and avoid sugary drinks which can cause bloating.

4. Get moving

Exercise is key to burning calories and boosting your metabolism. Incorporate some form of exercise into your day whether it’s a brisk walk, a workout at the gym or even some yoga at home. Aim for at least 30 minutes of activity.

5. Choose healthy snacks

Avoid sugary snacks and choose healthy alternatives like fruits, nuts and seeds. They’ll give you the energy you need to get through the day without causing you to crash later on.

6. Limit your carb intake

Carbs are important for energy, but too much can cause bloating and weight gain. Try to limit your carb intake to around 100-150 grams a day and stick to complex carbs like sweet potatoes, oats and quinoa.

7. Practice portion control

Keep an eye on your portion sizes when eating your meals. Use a smaller plate to give the illusion of a larger meal and stop eating once you feel full.

8. Cut out alcohol

Alcohol is high in calories and can cause bloating. Cut out alcohol for the day and you’ll be surprised at how much better you feel.

9. Avoid late-night snacking

Try not to eat anything in the 2-3 hours before you go to bed. Late-night snacking can disrupt your sleep and cause weight gain.

10. Get a good night’s sleep

A good night’s sleep is important for your overall health and wellbeing. Aim for at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night to help with weight loss and to keep you feeling refreshed.
