It was a gloomy day in the village when the little hound named Lucky went missing. The villagers searched high and low but could not find Lucky anywhere. Days turned into weeks and eventually, everyone gave up hope.
They assumed that Lucky had perished somewhere in the forest.
But Lucky had not perished. In fact, he was fighting for his life.
The Beginning of Lucky’s Suffering
Lucky had been out on a routine hunt with his master, the village hunter. They had gone deep into the forest in search of game when they came across a pack of wolves. Lucky, being a brave young hound, immediately sprang into action to protect his master.
But unfortunately, he was overpowered by the much larger wolves. The hunter tried his best to save Lucky, but it was too late. He assumed Lucky had died in the struggle and returned back to the village without him.
Lucky was badly injured, but he was not dead. He lay there, barely conscious, in a pool of his own blood. He knew he had to do something to survive. With whatever energy he had left, he dragged himself deeper into the forest, away from the wolves.
The Struggle for Survival
For weeks, Lucky lay in the forest, living off whatever he could find. He ate bugs, drank water from puddles, and scrounged for anything edible. His wounds slowly started to heal, but he was weak and could barely walk. Despite it all, he never gave up hope.
He knew that he had to return to his village, to his family, and to his master.
One day, Lucky came across an old, wise owl who lived in a tree. The owl saw the suffering hound and took pity on him. The kind bird offered to help Lucky find his way back to the village. Lucky, grateful for the help, decided to follow the owl.
The Journey Home
The journey back to the village was long and arduous. Lucky and the owl had to cross rivers, climb mountains, and cross treacherous ravines. But they persevered, day after day, until they finally reached the outskirts of the village.
As Lucky and the owl made their way through the village, Lucky could see familiar faces. He caught the scent of his master and family and knew he was close.
Finally, they arrived at the hunter’s house, and Lucky, weak from the journey, collapsed at the front door.
The Reunion
The hunter opened the door and was shocked to see Lucky lying there. He thought he was hallucinating. He scooped up Lucky and rushed him inside.
As the hunter tended to Lucky’s wounds, he listened to the owl’s story of how Lucky had outsmarted death and returned home.
The news of Lucky’s return quickly spread throughout the village. Everyone was in shock that the little hound had managed to survive the forest. But Lucky’s family was overjoyed. They had shed many tears, assuming they would never see him again.
Lucky’s mother licked his wounds, and his brothers cuddled up with him, happy that he had returned home.
The Aftermath
It took several weeks for Lucky to fully recover from his injuries. But he was a fighter and managed to pull through. His master was proud of him and promised to never leave him behind on a hunt again.
The villagers saw Lucky as a hero, and the owl who had helped him became something of a celebrity in the village.
From that day forward, Lucky was never far from his master’s side. He had outsmarted death, and in doing so, had proved his bravery and resilience.
Lucky became a symbol of hope for the villagers and a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always a way back home.
