Many parents have a difficult time talking to their kids about sex. It can be uncomfortable, awkward, embarrassing, and even scary for some. As a result, some moms would rather do almost anything else than have “the talk” with their kids.

We asked 20 moms about what they’d rather do than have that conversation. Here’s what they had to say:.

1. Clean the Bathroom

“I’d rather scrub the toilet with a toothbrush than talk about sex with my kids. At least then I can wear gloves and avoid eye contact with anyone.”.

2. Do the Laundry

“The never-ending pile of dirty laundry seems much more manageable compared to the thought of telling my kids about the birds and the bees.”.

3. Watch Paint Dry

“I’ll take watching paint dry any day over talking about sex with my kids.”.

4. Wash the Dishes

“I don’t mind washing the dishes. At least it’s mindless and I can avoid the awkwardness of a sex talk.”.

5. Go to the Dentist

“I hate going to the dentist, but I’d much rather have a root canal than talk to my kids about sex.”.

6. Clean Out the Garage

“Cleaning out the garage might not be fun, but it’s still better than the alternative.”.

7. Watch a Horror Movie

“I’d rather watch a horror movie than have ‘the talk.’ At least then the scary monsters can distract us from how uncomfortable we both are.”.
