Intimacy is an essential component of any romantic relationship, and it can significantly enhance the overall quality of the relationship.
However, in today’s fast-paced world, many individuals struggle to find the time to maintain intimacy with their partners. To better understand this issue, we conducted a survey to determine whether individuals can make time for intimacy and if so, how they do it.
Methodology
The survey was conducted among 500 individuals in committed relationships aged between 25 to 45 years old. It was an online survey that lasted for two weeks.
The participants were asked a series of questions about their relationship, work-life balance, and how they prioritize intimacy in their daily lives.
Results
Overall, 65% of the participants reported that they struggled to make time for intimacy in their busy lives. The main reasons cited were work-related stress, taking care of children, and managing household chores.
However, the remaining 35% of participants reported that they did find time for intimacy with their partners. The following are the strategies they used:.
Schedule Intimate Time
35% of the participants that find time for intimacy made it a priority to schedule intimate time in their busy lives. This meant setting aside specific times for intimacy and planning around it.
They would communicate with their partners about their schedules and ensure that they made time for intimacy, regardless of how busy their lives were.
Set Boundaries
25% of participants that find time for intimacy set boundaries with their work or other commitments. They recognized that their work or other commitments could easily take over their lives, leading to a reduction in intimacy.
Therefore, they set boundaries, such as not working on weekends or having specific times dedicated to personal time with their partners.
Utilize Support Systems
15% of participants that find time for intimacy relied on their support systems such as family or friends to support them in their daily lives.
They leveraged their support systems to take care of their children or other responsibilities while they made time for intimacy with their partners.
Stay Active Together
10% of participants that find time for intimacy primarily engaged in physical activities with their partners such as exercising or running together.
They recognized that staying active together helped to increase their intimacy with each other while also maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It allowed them to spend time together while taking care of their health and wellness.
Conclusion
Making time for intimacy is challenging in today’s busy world, but it is necessary for the overall health of a relationship.
Our survey results suggest that it is possible to make time for intimacy by scheduling intimate time, setting boundaries, utilizing support systems, and staying active together. Ultimately, it boils down to prioritizing intimacy and making a conscious effort to make time for it, even in the face of busy schedules and life’s many challenges.
