If you’re going for a run, it’s important to warm up first to avoid injury and get your heart pumping. Here are four exercises you can do before your run to get your heart rate up:.

1. Jumping Jacks

Jumping jacks are a great way to get your heart rate up quickly. Start standing with your feet together and arms at your sides. Jump your feet apart and raise your arms above your head at the same time. Then jump back to starting position.

Do 20 jumping jacks to get your heart pumping.

2. High Knees

High knees are a great exercise to increase your heart rate and warm up your legs. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and raise one knee up to your chest. Alternate between legs, moving your arms in a running motion. Do 20 high knees on each leg.

3. Butt Kicks

Butt kicks are another good exercise to warm up your legs. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and kick your heels up towards your buttocks. Move your arms in a running motion as you do this exercise. Do 20 butt kicks on each leg.

4. Lunges

Lunges are a great exercise to warm up your legs and get your heart pumping. Start standing with your feet together and take a step forward with one foot, lowering your body down towards the ground.

Keep your back straight and your front knee over your ankle. Push back up to starting position and repeat on the other side. Do 10 lunges on each leg.
