Wine is a beloved drink, but it can also be high in calories and sugar. To counteract the effects of wine, it’s important to incorporate exercise into your routine. One great way to do this is by using a fitness ball.
Here are five simple moves that will help you stay fit while still enjoying wine.
1. Plank with a Twist
Start in a plank position with your hands on the ball. Hold your core and glutes tight, keeping your back straight. Twist your hips to the right and then to the left. Do this for a minute or two, and repeat for three sets.
2. Ball Lifts
Lie on your back with your feet flat on the ground. Place the fitness ball between your feet. Lift the ball with your feet and then lower it back down. Do this for a minute or two, and repeat for three sets.
3. Spine Stretch
Sit on the ball with your feet flat on the ground. Slowly roll the ball down your spine until your shoulders touch the ball. Roll back up to your starting position. Do this for a minute or two, and repeat for three sets.
4. V-Ups
Lie on your back with your legs straight and your arms above your head. Hold the ball between your feet. Lift your legs and arms up and meet in the middle to make a V-shape. Lower back down and repeat. Do this for a minute or two, and repeat for three sets.
5. Plank Rollouts
Start in a plank position with your hands on the ball. Roll the ball forward as far as you can without losing form. Roll back to your starting position. Do this for a minute or two, and repeat for three sets.
These five moves are simple but effective ways to incorporate fitness into your wine routine. Try doing them before or after enjoying a glass of wine. Not only will you feel better physically, but you’ll also be able to enjoy your wine guilt-free.
