Drinking enough water every day is extremely important. Not only does water help our bodies function properly, but it also helps to keep our skin clear, our organs healthy, and our energy levels up.
However, like many people, I struggle to drink enough water every day. That’s why I decided to challenge myself to drink 3 liters of water every day for a month.
Before the Challenge
Before the challenge, my water consumption was all over the place. Some days I would drink a lot of water, and other days I would barely drink any. I would often reach for sugary drinks like soda or juice instead of water.
As a result, my skin was often dry and dull, and I would experience headaches and fatigue often.
In addition to my poor water consumption habits, my diet wasn’t the healthiest. I would often reach for processed foods and snacks instead of fresh fruits and vegetables.
I knew that this needed to change, and I hoped that the water challenge would help me to be more mindful of my health in general.
The Challenge: Drinking 3 Liters of Water Every Day
The challenge was simple: I had to drink 3 liters of water every day for a month. This meant that I had to drink a liter of water with each meal, and also drink a liter of water throughout the day.
To make it easier for myself, I purchased a large water bottle that could hold 1 liter of water. I would fill it up three times throughout the day.
At first, it was difficult to adjust to drinking so much water. I found myself running to the bathroom more often than usual. However, after a few days, I began to notice some positive changes. My skin looked more hydrated and my energy levels were up.
I also found that I was less hungry throughout the day.
Halfway Through the Challenge
At the halfway point of the challenge, I was feeling pretty good. Drinking 3 liters of water every day had become a habit and I found that I was naturally reaching for my water bottle instead of a sugary drink.
However, I was starting to struggle with keeping up with the challenge on weekends. I found that I was more likely to slip up and have a sugary drink or snack on weekends when I was out with friends.
Another challenge I was facing was the amount of time I was spending going to the bathroom. I found that I was spending a lot of time in the bathroom, which was affecting my productivity at work.
Additionally, drinking 3 liters of water every day made me realize how much water I wasn’t drinking before. It was eye-opening to realize that I had been neglecting my body’s need for water for so long.
After the Challenge
After a month of drinking 3 liters of water every day, I can definitely say that I feel better. My skin is more clear and hydrated, and I no longer experience headaches or fatigue on a regular basis.
Additionally, I lost a little bit of weight, which was a nice bonus.
However, I did learn that it’s okay to not be perfect all the time. On weekends, I found it difficult to stick to the 3-liter goal, especially when out with friends. But, that’s okay.
I learned that it’s important to enjoy life and not stress too much about being perfect all the time.
