Brushing your teeth is an important part of your daily routine that helps to maintain good oral hygiene. While it only takes a few minutes to brush your teeth, you can also use this time to exercise and make it a part of your fitness routine.
Here are some exercises to do while brushing your teeth for a healthier body:.
1. Squats
Squats are a great exercise to target your lower body. Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, and lower down into a squat position while brushing your teeth. Make sure your knees are aligned with your toes and your back is straight.
Repeat this movement for the duration of your brushing time.
2. Arm circles
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, and extend your arms out to the sides. Make small circles with your arms, and gradually increase the size of the circles.
This exercise targets your shoulders and upper arms, and can be done while brushing your teeth.
3. Lunges
Lunges are another great lower body exercise that can be done while brushing your teeth. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, and take a step forward with one foot.
Lower your body until your back knee almost touches the ground, and then push back up to a standing position. Alternate legs and repeat for the duration of your brushing time.
4. Calf raises
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, and raise your heels off the ground while keeping your toes on the ground. Hold for a few seconds and then lower your heels back down. This exercise targets your calves and can be done while brushing your teeth.
5. Plank
A plank is a great exercise for your core muscles. Start by getting into a push-up position, and then lower yourself down onto your forearms.
Hold this position for the duration of your brushing time, making sure to keep your core engaged and your back straight.
6. Wall sit
A wall sit is a great exercise to target your legs and glutes. Stand with your back against a wall, and slowly lower yourself down until your thighs are parallel to the floor. Hold this position for the duration of your brushing time.
